Our Commitment To Privacy:
Canon Development Americas, Inc. (“CDA”) is committed to protecting your privacy. We provide this Statement explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this Statement easy to find, we make it available on every page where our information collection practices are applicable.

Scope:

This Statement covers all areas on which our privacy statement hyperlink appears (hereinafter referred to in this Statement as the “Site). The information covered by this Statement is personal information you provide to us online ("Personally Identifiable Information") but does not include information provided about your trade, business or profession.  This Statement does not apply to our offline data collection practices.  For information concerning the privacy policies of your local Time-Warner Cable-affiliated cable operator, please refer to the Time Warner Cable and Affiliated ISPS Subscriber Privacy Notice.

By using this Site, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your Information as described in this Statement.  If you do not agree with this Privacy Statement, please do not use this Site. 

The Information We Collect:
There are two forms of Information that we collect online: Site Visitorship Information and Personally Identifiable Information voluntarily provided to us by Site visitors.

Site Visitorship Information
As with many online web sites, we routinely gather Information on Site activity.  This information may include data on how many people visit the Site, the pages they visit, where they come from, how long they stay, frequency of use, the date and time of use, number of photo albums, number of photos uploaded on the system, storage in MB’s, how often a user prints, what functions users use, e.g. rotate, slideshow, move, copy, and the like.

 

All Site Visitorship Information is:


   • gathered through the use of web server logs and cookies. A web server log is a file where web site activity is stored. A cookie is a small piece of information that a web site sends to a visitor's computer and which is then stored on the visitor's hard drive. We use cookies to track repeat visits to its Site and to otherwise facilitate your Site experience. Although we assign a cookie to a visitor's computer, it does not know who that visitor is unless that person specifically tells us.;

• used to better design our Site and to share with advertisers to create targeted marketing;

• archived for future use and may be disclosed to others.

Collection of Personally Identifiable Information
Personally Identifiable Information may be collected on certain pages of the Site. If you decide to contact us online to ask a question, download certain software, place an order for service or inquire about services, you may be asked to provide certain types of Personally Identifiable Information (such as your name, email address, postal address, telephone number, comments, etc.).  We ask for this information in order to assist us in complying with your requests and to facilitate communications with you.


Personally Identifiable Information is collected only when Site visitors voluntarily provide it. It is not necessary to provide any Personally Identifiable Information in order to simply browse the Site.

How We Use Information:
Personally Identifiable Information may be forwarded to our business units, subsidiaries or affiliates that are equipped to handle your request, inquiry or feedback.  We use the Personally Identifiable Information you provide about yourself when placing an online service request to fulfill and complete that service request and to provide you with information about other Canon products and promotions that may be of interest to you. Your Information may be shared with our employees, independent contractors, agents or other related and unrelated entities and/or business partners acting on our behalf to fulfill and/or ship an order, an award or rebate; conduct surveys; collect payments or to provide a product or service you have requested. We share the Personally Identifiable Information with Time Warner Cable.  We do not share this information with non-Canon or non-Time Warner companies except to the extent necessary to complete your transaction and when we do share it with others it is subject to their agreement to treat it as confidential business information with the understanding that it may not be used for any purpose other than to perform their function.

 

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive as well as to provide you with service updates, special promotions and offers.

In the course of growing or restructuring our business, we may purchase the assets of another company or sell the assets of our company. During these transactions, information about customers is frequently considered a business asset that is the subject of such a purchase or sale. Also, in the unlikely event that we, or substantially all of our assets, are either acquired or subject to liquidation in bankruptcy, Information may be transferred as well.


We release Information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with law, to enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements, or to protect our rights, property, or safety and to protect the rights, property or safety of our Site users or others. This includes exchanging Information with other companies and organizations relating to criminal activities, other activities prohibited by law and for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Since this Privacy Statement applies solely to this Site, please remember to read the privacy statements of the other sites you visit. We are not responsible for nor do we have control over those sites or their collection, use or disclosure practices. 

Our Commitment To Data Security:
We work hard to ensure that our systems are secure and that they meet industry standards. We use reasonable security methods to protect and ensure correct use of the data that resides on our servers. However, since no data transmission over the Internet can be completely secure, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you transmit such information at your own risk. We will continue to assess new technology to evaluate its ability to provide additional protection of your Information.

Our Commitment To Children's Privacy:
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our Site from those we actually know are under 13.
